Jordan Whiting, a former Scout.com four-star prospect, will transfer from Ohio State to Louisville.
Whiting, a former high school All-American from Trinity, will have one season of eligibility remaining after sitting out the 2012 season. He will be a non-scholarship athlete for Charlie Strong's Cardinals.
After helping Trinity to four state championships, Whiting signed with Ohio State, where he redshirted in 2009. In 2010, Whiting recorded two tackles as a reserve and didn't record any tackles in 2011 after serving a one-game NCAA suspension for receiving impermissible benefits.
Whiting announced his decision in a series of 'tweets' on Twitter Thursday:
"Buckeye nation these last few years have been the most memorable years of my life. It was truly a blessing to have been a part of this city!
Sometimes in life there comes a time where u have to make a decision about what's best for u and ur career and what u want out of life…
So in saying that, as of 111:55am I received an important phone call and after spring quarter ends on June 1st…..
I will be attending University of Louisville and will be a Cardinal for the remainder of my college career as a student and athlete!….
I also want to thank Coach Strong and the entire Louisville staff for giving me an opportunity!"
Whiting is the latest former four-star transfer for Louisville, joining Florida tight end Gerald Christian and Tennessee receiver Matt Milton. Florida receiver Robert Clark also transferred to UofL this off-season.
