Washington plans Louisville visit

Kyle Washington, a 6'9 2013 center from Hotchkiss (CT) Prep who is in the process of narrowing his list, told InsideTheVille.com that he plans to visit Louisville later this month.

Kyle Washington isn't ready to talk specifics about his list.

The 6'9, 225 pound three-star center from Hotchkiss (CT) prep says he's in the process of narrowing a lengthy list of potential suitors that includes Notre Dame, Louisville, Washington, Cincinnati and Baylor, among others.

"I'm talking to a lot of schools and I'm in the process of making out my list really soon," Washington said in Charlottesville.

Washington, a physical big man who averaged 8 points and 4.7 rebounds at the NBA Top 100 Camp, including a 15 point, 7 rebound performance Friday morning, says he's planning to visit Louisville and Cincinnati before or after the Amare Stoudemire Skills Academy in Chicago.

"I want to take a visit to Louisville and Cincinnati in mid or late June," Washington said.

Washington expressed high interest in Rick Pitino's Cardinals program.

"I like Louisville a lot," Washington said. "Coach Wyking Jones, Coach Pitino, Coach Kareem Richardson - I know a lot of their coaches. I'm excited about them. A program like that knocking on my door is great and it gives me incentive to keep on working hard.

"Coach Pitino is great, I like the program and what they do with their big men and I've heard their facilities are great. So I can't wait to go down there."

Washington said Louisville has been involved in his recruitment since last year.

"Wyking and I have stayed in touch a lot," Washington said. "Coach Pitino and I talk every once in a while and we keep growing that relationship. He likes my versatility, attitude and energy and that I bring a lot to the table."

Washington says he could make a college at any time between now and the start of his high school season.

"I have my list, I just need to go on my visits and compare and contrast," Washington said. "I definitely want to be committed before the start of the season. In between this timeframe and the beginning of the season is when I want to make my decision."
