As first reported by the Courier-Journal and confirmed through multiple sources by InsideTheVille.com, 6'6 Lorenzo Wade of Las Vegas, NV has given the University of Louisville a verbal commitment.
Wade, who was scheduled to make an official visit to UofL in June but cancelled after 6'7 forward Donta Smith verbally commited the same day, is considered the top guard on the West Coast by TheInsiders.com Tracey Pierson.
Wade is a long and multi-skilled guard, in the Reece Gaines mold. He's excellent in transition, has good ball skills and attacks the rim from the perimeter. His outside stroke needs more consistency but he is a versatile, all around player.
Wade graduated from Cheyenne High School in Las Vegas last spring and will attend Hargrave Military Academy and play for Coach Fletch Arritt next season.
Lorenzo attended the adidas ABCD Camp in Teaneck, NJ last week.
