McCullough goes with Syracuse

Chris McCullough made an early decision on Monday by verbally committing to Jim Boeheim and Syracuse.

Chris McCullough didn't feel the need to wait out the recruiting process.

McCullough, a five-star recruit out of Wolfeboro (N.H.) Brewster Academy, committed to Syracuse Monday afternoon, becoming their first verbal pledge in the 2014 recruiting class.

McCullough, who had named Syracuse his leader two weeks ago, confirmed the news via Twitter.

McCullough entertained interest from Providence, Arizona, Florida, Iowa State, Kansas, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, St. John's and a host of other high major programs.

A fluid athlete, McCullough is an impressive all around talent. Athletically, he's gifted and he runs the floor with ease. He's capable of hitting mid-range jump shots and likes to face up defenders and attack.

A 6-foot-9, 205-pound power forward, McCullough is ranked No. 9 overall in the 2014 class. McCullough is the first top 10 prospect in the 2014 class to make a college choice. Recommended Stories
