Final Word: Paul Chryst

Paul Chryst recaps the week of practice coming off the Notre Dame loss, looks forward to UConn.

In summary, yes Shane Gordon will play Friday night. There's no indication that he will start, but things seem to be leaning that way.

Emanuel Rackard, who came off the field right before Gordon made a heads up play on Theo Riddick in the first half of Saturday's loss, will not make the trip due to injury.

Rushel Shell got one carry. Was that by design? Chryst says no, and he talks about that--even saying he felt bad about that. Asked if there's a challenge, because of the weather, about getting a running back warmed up, Chryst echoed one of his mottos; 'it's football.'

One thing Chryst said, was that knowing Notre Dame is a tough team, he's curious to see if playing well against that level of competition will rub off on this Pitt team during its remaining three regular season games. Recommended Stories
