On the field, No. 19/21 Rutgers inched closer to its first Orange Bowl berth and Big East championship with a 10-3 victory at Cincinnati. The Scarlet Knights held Cincinnati below 100 rushing yards in the win. Sophomore tailback Savon Huggins recorded 179 yards on 41 carries, filling in as the starter for an injured Jawan Jamison (ankle). Jamison carried the ball three times for 37 yards in the game and told ScarletReport.com he hopes to be ready for Pittsburgh. Rutgers (9-1, 5-0) is one win away from a share of the Big East title, the first in school history, and locks up a spot in the Orange bowl with two more wins. Ranked No. 18 in the BCS, Rutgers travels to Heinz Field to play Pittsburgh Saturday afternoon. In Recruiting Metuchen (N.J.) four-star guard Dorian Miller is set to announce between Rutgers, Connecticut and North Carolina tomorrow night at MSG Varsity studios on Long Island. ScarleReport.com will be in attendance. St. Elizabeth (Wilmington, Del.) receiver Andre Patton will be one of many visitors to Rutgers for the Louisville game in two weeks. Patton also has set an official visit to Rutgers, his first. University School (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) linebacker Skai Moore officially visited Wisconsin this weekend and is set to travel to Ohio State Saturday for the Michigan rivalry game. Holy Trinity (Hicksville, N.Y.) quarterback commit Chris Laviano finalized plans to enroll early and will arrive at Rutgers for class and practice next semester. On the Hardwood Rutgers basketball bounced back this week following the loss to St. Peter's to open the season. The Scarlet Knights won games against Sacred Heart and Princeton. Sophomore guard Elijah Carter has 40 points in two games since being benched by coach Mike Rice, including a game-high 22 in the win over Princeton. Rutgers (2-1) returns to action tomorrow night against Boston at the RAC. Faith Baptist (Fla.) guard Deshaun Morman verbally committed to Cincinnati over Rutgers.
