Quick, who became the state's all-time leading receiver earlier in the season, was named Gatorade Player of the Year for the state of Kentucky. He's now up for the national Player of the Year honor.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Quick caught 82 passes for 1,333 yards and 14 touchdowns during his senior season at Trinity. He suffered broken ribs two weeks ago against St. Xavier and has been sidelined since the injury.
Trinity plays PRP on Saturday night in the Class 6-A state final.
For his career, Quick leads the state in career receptions with 277 and ranks third all-time in career receiving yards with 4,354 and career TD receptions with 55.
A U.S. Army All-American, Quick told Cardinal Authority on Monday night his list of colleges is currently in order U of L, Ohio State and Oregon. He visited Ohio State last weekend and is expected to visit U of L and Oregon next month.
