The Syracuse Orange men's basketball program went on the road in the Big East Conference for the first time this season in this match with the South Florida Bulls.
The Bulls met the Orange with the horns, suppressing Syracuse to a nine-point deficit in the first half as the shooters of South Florida came on.
But, the Orange would not stay down, peeling away their deficit and turning it into an advantage, 30-23, at halftime.
From there, despite the Bulls charging at times, the Orange would not give their lead back, holding on for an 11-point win, 55-44.
Senior guard Brandon Triche, senior forward James Southerland, and junior forward C.J. Fair all attained double-digits in points. Triche led the Orange and all scorers overall with 20 points. Southerland ended with 17, while Fair had 10. Their 47 points combined defeated the 44 scored by the Bulls as a whole.
Triche also aided in helping his teammates to scores, with four assists. His backcourt teammate, sophomore guard Michael Carter-Williams led Syracuse with five assists for the game.
With the victory, Syracuse improves to 14-1 overall and 2-0 in the Big East.
