The first coach that former Syracuse Orange football head coach asked to join him that obliged was Syracuse offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Nathaniel Hackett. Hackett was named the Buffalo Bills' offensive coordinator, but has since added the role of quarterbacks coach as well.
But, Marrone still had a few more that his eye was on.
Anselmo was part of Marrone's original staff at Syracuse, coming in with him in 2009.
During his time on the Orange, Anselmo worked on the defense, with a focus on the secondary as well as the linebacker unit, while also concentrating on special teams.
Luther had been with Syracuse since well before the institution of Marrone as their head coach. He had been a member of the athletics staff at the school since 2000, first as an assistant strength and conditioning coach before rising to the title of director of strength and conditioning in 2007, and serving in that role ever since.
Overall, Syracuse University athletics has now lost a total of seven members since Marrone accepted his position as head coach of the NFL's Buffalo Bills.
