Slaughter named Player of the Week

University of Louisville junior Antonita Slaughter had such a great week she was named Big East Conference Player of the Week. Slaughter helped the Cardinals win a pair of games and move to 17-4 on the season.

University of Louisville junior Antonita Slaughter has been honored for her solid play last week, named Big East Player of the Week.

The junior from Christian Academy in Louisville averaged 18 points and six rebounds in wins over Marquette and St. John's as the Cardinals moved to 17-4 overall on the season and 5-2 in league play.

In the win on the road against Marquette, Slaughter had 14 points, seven rebounds, four assists and two steals. She had 14 points in the first half.

On Sunday, Slaughter was 6 of 12 from the field and 10 of 11 on free throws and finished with 22 points and five rebounds in a win over St. John's.

Slaughter is averaging 9.1 points – fourth-best on the team – and 5.1 rebounds a game for the Cardinals.

The Cardinals play at South Florida on Wednesday night and will host Georgetown on Saturday afternoon in the KFC Yum! Center. Recommended Stories
