After winning seven of eight, then eight of ten before that, Pitt looking to overcome two-game slide. A good start, according to head coach Jamie Dixon, a significant edge on the boards.

Somehow, Notre Dame was able to overcome a 1-18 start, from the field. In the 51-42 win over Pitt Monday, Pitt still ended up outshooting the Irish 34.8% (16-46) to 38.3 % (18-47).

While shooting is a bit of a concern, another area the Panthers need a major adjustment in is rebounding. In the eight games leading up to the Marquette game, Pitt had an average rebounding margin of +9. In these two losses, opponents have had an average rebounding margin of +12. There's some truth to that, being that the last two losses are the two biggest margins of defeat this year for Pitt.

Also of note, following Thursday's practice, Talib Zanna and Durand Johnson are out due to illness. Both could be expected back by Sunday.
