Louisville lands commit from Florida DB

The University of Louisville landed it's second member of the 2014 recruiting class on Friday morning when defensive back Michael Johnson on Hialeah (Fla) picked the Cardinals.

The University of Louisville has been hard at work recruiting the class of 2014 and on Friday morning they secured a commitment from a standout defensive back.

Michael Johnson (6'3, 190) pledged to the Cardinals program after receiving a scholarship offer just days before.

"I am really excited because it's a dream come true," said Johnson, who is a former teammate of incoming Cardinal cornerback Chucky Williams. "One more year and I am going to be on the big stage and a couple of players who are up there are from my neighborhood."

Johnson also held a scholarship offer from West Virginia, while Central Florida, Miami, Nebraska, and Oregon are expressed heavy interest.

As a junior, Johnson recorded 99 tackles, seven forced fumbles and one interception. He also pulled in 10 catches on offense.
