Kevin Ware invited to the White House

University of Louisville sophomore guard Kevin Ware has earned a lot of national attention since his horrific broken right leg against Duke in the Elite Eight game of the NCAA Tournament. Now, Ware is headed to the White House.

Ware confirmed on his twitter account this afternoon that he has been invited to the annual White House Correspondents' Association Dinner. Ware said his girlfriend, Brittany, will attend the dinner with him.

The event will be April 27 at the White House.

The WHCA represents the White House press corps in its dealings with the administration on coverage-related issues.

President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, leadership from Congress and members of the Washington press corps attend the event.

According to the WHCA website, Emmy award-winning comedian and late night talk show host Conan O'Brien will headline the event. Recommended Stories
