Chance Sorrell

The University of Louisville football staff continues to scour the country for prospects, offering several other players in recent days. Here's a notebook with a look at several of the latest offers from the Cardinals.

CARDS OFFER Florida QB

The University of Louisville football staff has jumped into the mix for one of the top quarterbacks in the state of Florida in the Class of 2015.

The Cardinals have offered – the first official offer – Orlando Olympia High School standout Deondre Francois.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Francois was offered by the Cardinals on Monday. He threw for 1,790 yards and 15 touchdowns as a sophomore, despite missing three games during the season with an injury.

Francois completed 58 percent of his passes.

ANOTHER TE OFFER OUT

The U of L staff is searching for a tight end in the Class of 2014 and has offered around a dozen prospects at the position.

The latest is Middleton, Ohio, tight end Chance Sorrell. The 6-foot-6 250-pound Sorrell said the Cardinals are his 10th scholarship offer.

"I really don't know as much about them, so we plan on visiting soon," Sorrell said, noting he did watch the Cardinals on television several times last season.

Sorrell also has offers from Indiana, Vanderbilt, Boston College, West Virginia, Cincinnati, Bowling Green, Kent State, Middle Tennessee and Ohio U.

Sorrell is a player who could eventually play tackle in college.

CARDS JUMP IN ON OHIO DE

Another prospect the Cardinals have offered is Clayton, Ohio, Northmont defensive end Terry Ramsey.

The 6-foot-5, 220-pound Ramsey already had offers from Michigan State, Indiana, Kentucky, Nebraska, Minnesota, West Virginia and Toledo.

As a junior, Ramsey had 44 tackles and a pair of sacks.
