Ohio DT will check out Louisville again

Daniel Cage

Cincinnati Winton Woods defensive tackle Daniel Cage is another top prospect considering the University of Louisville. Cage is still looking at 10 schools but has he decided on when he will make a decision? Cardinal Authority has the story.

Cincinnati Winton Woods four-star defensive tackle Daniel Cage has more than two dozen college scholarship offers.

But the 6-foot-2, 295-pound Cage said he's trying to focus on a handful of schools before he's ready to end the recruiting process.

"I've boiled it down to about 10 teams or so," Cage told Cardinal Authority. "I haven't made any kind of decision right now. I'm just looking around at schools."

Cage said he likely wouldn't make any decisions "until after the season" and noted a big thing he's looking at with each school is "the education that I am going to get at that school. Education is big for me."

While his list is still a little lengthy at 10 schools, Cage said Louisville would "definitely be in there" and the Cardinals will get a visit before the summer is over. He was on campus for a spring practice last month.

"The facilities were great and I liked the coaches a lot," Cage said. "I have a good relationship with the coaches. I want to major in physical therapy and the coaches told me what kind of education that I could get there.

"But I want to go see that for myself."

Cage also listed Michigan State, West Virginia, Indiana, Florida, Georgia Tech, Tennessee, Arkansas, Illinois and Nebraska. He said he plans on visiting as many – if not all – of those schools before the end of the summer.

Cage, who is an explosive player along the defensive line with his size, strength and quickness, is ranked as the No. 4 player from the state of Ohio. He's ranked as the No. 5 defensive tackle in the country by Scout.com.

As a junior, Cage had 44 tackles, 18 tackles for a loss and 10 sacks after 54 tackles, 26 tackles for a loss and 22 sacks as a sophomore.
