University of Louisville senior linebacker Preston Brown is one of the leaders of the team. On Monday, Brown was named to a pair of watch lists for preseason awards.
Brown was named to the Rotary Lombardi Trophy and the Butkus Award Watch Lists.
The 6-2, 260-pound Brown has started 24 of 39 career games, including all 13 last season. he led the Cardinals with a career-best 109 tackles last season as a junior.
A second team All-Big East selection last season, Brown had six double-digit tackle games and was 71st in the nationally in tackles. He also registered his first career interception.
The Cincinnati, Ohio, native registered a career-best 17 tackles in a 27-25 win over South Florida and was credited with 13 against Cincinnati. Moving to the middle linebacker position last season, Brown also totaled 12 tackles versus Syracuse and ended the year with double-digit tackles in the last seven contests.
