Kentucky’s top prospect in the Class of 2016 – Taylor County’s Quentin Goodin - is starting to get a lot of college attention. Goodin is up to six scholarship offers and has a dozen other schools showing interest, including Louisville.

Taylor County High School sophomore Quentin Goodin doesn’t have a scholarship offer to the University of Louisville at this time.

But Goodin has visited U of L three times and the Cardinals are among over 20 schools that have already been in contact with Kentucky’s top 2016 prospect.

”I don’t want it all to get in my head,” Goodin said. “I don’t want anybody to think I am cocky or anything. I just want to have fun, get better and stay level-headed even with all the calls and success.”

The 6-foot-2, 175-pound Goodin already holds offers from Indiana, Northern Kentucky, Oklahoma State, Tennessee, Western Kentucky and Samford.

”Indiana definitely stands a top the list right now, because they offered,” Goodin said. “Coach (Tom) Crean said he wants me there. He said I am his top priority.”

Goodin has made three visits to U of L, including a trip to a regular-season game and one of the Red/White scrimmages.

Goodin’s father, Chris, said U of L joins Purdue, West Virginia, Wright State, Kentucky, Xavier, UAB, Alabama, Vanderbilt, Minnesota, Kansas State and Eastern Kentucky have all been in contact but not offered. He also mentioned Dayton, Tulsa, Stanford and Penn State as schools who have sent letters.

”I first just see how the school plays and the second is academics, un case the NBA thing doesn’t work,” Goodin said. “I always want a back-up plan.

”I just want to make sure I make the right decision when I do decide.”

Cardinal Authority will keep you posted in the progress of Goodin.
