Cards tabbed No. 9 in AP poll

The University of Louisville football team was ranked in the top 10 of the preseason Associated Press poll on Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals check in at No. 9.

Coming off a win in the AllState Sugar Bowl and an 11-2 season, the University of Louisville football team has some lofty expectations this season.

On Saturday, those expectations were revealed again.

Louisville has its highest preseason ranking in school history as the Cardinals were tabbed as the No. 9 team in the preseason Associated Press poll.

U of L is also No. 9 in the ESPN coaches’ poll and was No. 7 in the Sports Illustrated poll released earlier in the week.

”The Cardinals open the season on Sept. 1 against Ohio University at 3:30 p.m. in Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium.
