Scout.com has updated their 2014 prospect rankings and the results have pushed the Cardinals higher in the national rankings. Cardinal Authority has a breakdown on how Louisville stacks up following the update.

University of Louisville head coach Charlie Strong and his staff have already changed the expectations of the program's recruiting efforts by receiving 25 verbal commitments prior to the start of the regular season.

Never before has the University of Louisville program enjoyed such success this early in the recruiting process. Not once has the Cardinals class ranked among the top 25 this early.

Scout.com has completed their preseason prospect rankings and the results further validate the impressive performance that the Cardinals coaching staff has done in evaluating talent and securing commitments.

Highlighted by Scout.com Top 300 defensive tackle commitment Poona Ford of Hilton Head, S.C., and Louisville Trinity four-star quarterback Reggie Bonnafon, Louisville's class has climbed into the Scout.com top 15, checking in at No. 13.

All of Louisville's 25 commitments are rated among the top 150 at their respective position and 24 of 25 are now listed as a three-star or higher.

Louisville also saw a noticeable jump in positional rankings, with four different groups making the top 15.
