The University of Louisville baseball staff has the program coming off a second appearance at the College World Series in June. And the staff is using the recruiting Class of 2014 to try and make sure the program returns.
Cardinal Authority has confirmed the Cardinals have landed two more stars in the class, making the number of commitments in the ’14 class at least 13 prospects.
The two latest commitments are Franklinville, N.J., pitcher Bryan Dobzanski and Indianapolis Park Tudor pitcher/outfielder Chris Elbrecht. Both prospects are considered top prospects in their respective states.
Dobzanski is one of the best three-sport athletes in New Jersey, also starring in football and on the wrestling mat for Delsea High School.
As a junior, Dobzanski pitched 24.1 innings and struck out 36 batters with a 0.29 ERA. He has a fastball in the low 90s.
Dobzanski won the 220-pound state wrestling title and was 46-0, while helping Delsea to a Group 3 state title. He had five touchdown receptions.
The 6-foot-3, 185-pound Elbrecht is one of the top players in the ’14 class in the state of Indiana and picked the Cardinals over Boston College.
