U of L women signs No. 11 player in nation

Myisha Hines-Allen was the fourth of five commitments in the Class of 2014 for the University of Louisville women's basketball team. But Hines-Allen will be one of the highest-ranked players the Cardinals' ever sign. Cardinal Authority has the latest on the signing of the No. 11 player in the country.

University of Louisville women's basketball coach Jeff Walz is signing the highest-ranked recruiting class in school history.

And that class includes one of the top prospects in school history.

Among the five players signing today with U of L is Myisha Hines-Allen, who is ranked as high as the No. 11 prospect in the nation. She is ranked No. 11 by ProspectsNation.com and No. 16 by All-Star Girls Report.

"I am so happy to sign those papers and can't wait to get there," Hines-Allen said. "The coaches is great, the system is also great because they play fast – and that's the way I like to play. Plus, the campus is so great.

"I just can't wait to get there."

The 6-foot-2 Hines-Allen is a forward from Montclair, N.J., who is listed among the top five wings in the '14 class nationally.

Hines-Allen had dozens of offers, including U of L, Rutgers, Georgia Tech, California, Baylor, UCLA and Kentucky.

But she said she was "so glad" and "so excited" that her choice was the Cardinals. And now she's part of the family.

"All the hard work paid off," she said. "It's going to be a lot of fun. It's an honor to play for coach Walz because of all his past accomplishments.

"I can't wait to get there."
