Lexington (Ky.) Christian pitcher signed his Letter of Intent on Wednesday morning

Ranked as the state's No. 2 in-state prospect by both and, Lexington Christian pitcher Lincoln Henzman is yet another significant member of Louisville baseball's 2014 recruiting class.

Henzman (6'2, 185) also held scholarship offers from Kentucky, LSU and others before choosing to join Dan McDonnell's program.

He made it official on Wednesday morning - the first day of the fall signing period - by signing his Letter of Intent.

"I did it this morning before I went to school," he told Cardinal Authority. "I'm sure it'll set in soon that I'm now set to be there for the next three to four years of my life."

He, along with two others, will be recogonized at a school ceremony on Thursday.

"Everybody comes out," he explained. "Family, friends, coaches that have coached me over the years, they are all coming out. I'm actually doing it with two other girls (Morehead State & Bellarmine) in my school, so there will be a lot of people there and it should be fun."

Henzman continues to recover from Tommy John surgery and receives help from future Cardinal teammates. During his rehab, he has continued to workout, including spending time with fellow 2014 Cardinal commits Riley Jackson and Devin Hairston.

Hairston, who Henzman described as "one of my best friends," spends three days a week throwing with him at physical therapy appointments.

"He's been a lot of help," he continued. "It'll be awesome playing with him and Riley both."

The All-State pitcher hopes to be back to full strength by the post season.

"I'm getting stronger every week and doing everything that I can physically.

"My rehab still goes into the season. My goal is to ready for district play, but you never know with these types of arm injuries. It's a personal goal to be ready by early June, to be 100%."

Henzman is ranked as the No. 86 right-handed pitcher in the country and the No. 256 player in the country overall by Perfect Game.
