Lukayus McNeil from Indianapolis Decatur Central has offers from all over the country.
But the 6-foot-7, 290-pound McNeil said one of those schools "just felt right," so he gave a verbal commitment on Thursday afternoon to the University of Louisville.
McNeil is the 26th commitment in the Class of 2014 for the Cardinals. He's a three-star prospect and ranks as the No. 40 offensive tackle in the country by Scout.com.
"It just happened," McNeil said. "I felt like it was right. I like the offense they run and just all-around love the school and the coaches. It was the right place for me."
McNeil had more than two dozen offers and made visits to U of L and North Carolina State. He was also seriously considering Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan State, Ohio State and Nebraska.
McNeil said he's already put in a lot of work and is ready to do even more before he arrives on campus at U of L.
"I think that I have improved a lot from my junior year when it comes to my footwork, staying low and working on my quickness," McNeil said in a recent interview. "I have also gotten better at the mental side. I am keeping my attitude under control and doing a lot of film study."
McNeil is the third offensive line pledge in the class for the Cardinals.
