The 6-foot-7, 300-pound Burns has now been to three U of L home games this season and is just as excited as he was the day he committed.
"I just love coming there an watching," Burns said, noting he would be back this weekend for the Memphis game. "I get a chance to see coach (Dave Borbely) and watch them play. It's a great place and I love the fans."
Burns said the win over Houston on Saturday night was "a lot of fun to watch. I got a chance to talk to coach Borbs again and had some good food."
While Burns said the U of L staff hasn't told him what they want him to work on, he's pretty sure he knows what he needs to improve.
"I know I need to get more quickness and improve my footwork," Burns said. "I'm working hard in the weight room and can't wait to get there."
Fairfield finished the season 9-2 after a first-round playoff loss to Pickerington North. Burns said he felt like he "had a great season."
"We had a good season," Burns said. "It was a lot of fun to play with my teammates for the last time. But I'm ready for (college)."
Burns said he anticipates playing tackled at U of L.
