University of Louisville football commitment Poona Ford put up some ridiculous numbers for a second consecutive season.

Ford finished his junior season at Hilton Head Island, S.C., High School with 154 tackles, 44 for loss and 10 sacks.

He knew it would be hard to repeat those numbers, seeing double and triple teams as a senior. But he still has a stellar season with 135 tackles, 28 tackles for a loss and seven sacks during his senior year.

Ford has already played in the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas and will play in the Semper Fi All-American Bowl. Now he earned another honor, being named Island Packet and Beaufort Gazette Football Defensive Player of the Year award.

While he was putting up the stats playing both sides of the ball and special teams, Ford also helped his team win. Hilton Head Island started the season 7-0 and finished 7-4.

Ford also had two forced fumbles and on offense carried 34 times for 155 yards and seven TDs. He had three TD rushing in a 33-32 upset of rival Bluffton.
