Multiple national reports on Saturday night say Charlie Strong will be announced as the Texas head coach on Sunday.
Reports on Strong has been back and forth the entire day as the coach is in Louisville.
Strong is reportedly waiting for U of L athletic director Tom Jurich to return to town. He's in a snow storm in Colorado where he's been on vacation and having a tough time getting home to speak with his current coach.
Cardinal Authority has confirmed that U of L officials have not been informed of any decision by Strong. As of early Saturday evening, CA sources said Strong had not made a final decision.
So, on we go for the day.
Earlier in the day: Multiple reports on Friday evening that claimed that Louisville head coach Charlie Strong was preparing to accept the vacant position at the University of Texas, however following a 9:00a.m. staff meeting at the Schnellenberger football complex, the fourth year head coach remains as the Cardinals coach.
"Charlie met with the staff today and informed them that no decision has been made at this time," U of L football sports information director Rocco Gasparro told gathered media at the football facility on Saturday morning.
No reasons were provided as to what is keeping Strong from making a decision on the Texas offer, which is reportedly worth $5 million per year, for 5 years.
After nearly an hour, most of the U of L coaching staff left the complex without comment.
While severe winter weather is making travel difficult, University of Louisville Athletic Director Tom Jurich is attempting to return from vacation in Colorado to visit with Strong.
"Tom is attempting to get back from Colorado today, so he and Charlie have a chance to meet face to face," Gasparro said, adding that the two have spoke over the phone.
A previously scheduled meeting with the players is set for 5:00p.m. on Sunday. School begins on Monday.
Many recruits are also being informed that no decision has been made.
Also on Strong's agenda is a trip to Connecticut to participate in ESPN's coverage of the BCS Championship game on Monday night.
