Louisville falls to Memphis, 73-67

The University of Louisville led by five points with 5:26 left but couldn't close out Memphis in a 73-67 loss to the Tigers at the KFC Yum! Center. The Cardinals fall to 13-3 on the season and 2-1 in the American Athletic Conference.

Memphis had five players in double figures and hit 50.9 percent from the field and took down Louisville 73-67 in the KFC Yum! Center on Thursday night.

The Tigers held U of L scoreless for the final 2:11 of the game and were outscored 18-6 to end the game and fell to 13-3 on the season.

U of L hit just 39.1 percent from the field, allowed Memphis to hit 50.9 percent and were outrebounded 37-35.

Luke Hancock led the Cardinals with 20 points, five rebounds and five assists, while Russ Smith hit just 6 of 15 and had 19 points.

Montrezl Harrell added 14 points and 11 rebounds, while the Cardinals got just two points on 1 of 9 from the field from Chris Jones.
