Jones, a junior-college transfer from Memphis, Tenn., didn't make the trip to South Florida because of a strained oblique muscle. He was injured in the SMU game two weeks ago.
Jones is averaging 11.3 points a game this season and is second on the team with 47 assists. He's started 13 games this season.
While he's not on the trip to Tampa, Jones is expected back for next Thursday's game at the KFC Yum! Center against Cincinnati.
Freshman Terry Rozier is expected to get his third straight start for the Cardinals.
Junior Wayne Blackshear, who fell hard late in Saturday's win at Connecticut, is fine and expected to play.
U of L plays South Florida tomorrow at 7 p.m.
