Witherspoon hopes for offer on Monday

Davon Witherspoon, 6'4, 200-pound safety from Hollywood (Fla.) McArthur, tells Cardinal Authority that he'll commit if offered.

A late name on the Louisville recruiting radar, Davon Witherspoon, a 6-foot-4, 200-pound safety, made an official visit with the Cardinals program over the weekend.

"It was a great visit," Witherspoon told Cardinal Authority. "I liked it a lot up there."

Witherspoon holds a scholarship offer from Western Kentucky, where he was recruited by new U of L wide receivers coach Lamar Thomas.

"They made me feel like I was at home there," he said of his time in Louisville. "It's a really nice players. I like the coaches, the players and everything.

While he has yet to collect an offer from the Cardinals, he hopes that will change on Monday.

"They told me to call them back tomorrow," he said on Sunday afternoon. "They said that they are working on finding (a scholarship) for me."

If an offer is extended?

"That's it. I would probably make my decision right then."
