And the future is bright.
The Cardinals have nine commitments in the Class of 2015 and three in '16 and many of those were tabbed All-American underclassmen by PerfectGame.org when the website released a listing this week of the top players.
Four U of L commits were tabbed first-team Underclassmen All-Americans, including Christian Academy pitcher Riley Thompson.
Batesville, Ind., pitcher Bryan Hoeing, who is ranked as the No. 21 player in the '15 class, Crown Point, Ind., pitcher Noah Burkholder and Baltimore, Ohio, pitcher Sam Bordner were also tabbed first-team All-Americans.
Hinsdale, Ill., outfielder Chris Botsoe and Westchester, Ill., outfielder Joshua Stowers - both 2015 prospects - were second-team underclassmen All-Americans.
Columbus, Ind., shortstop Devin Mann was named to the third team. He's also a '15 prospect.
Future U of L players on the "high honorable mention" listing: Elizabethtown catcher Zeke Pinkham, a 2015 prospect, along with '16 commits Tyler Fitzgerald, a shortstop from Rochester, Ill., Justin Lavey, a shortstop from Kenosha, Wisc., and Ethan Springer, an outfielder from Beechwood High School.
Daniel Little, a '15 shortstop from Lexington Catholic, was named honorable mention.
One '14 signee - Franklinville, N.J. pitcher Bryan Dobzanski - was a second-team All-American among the senior class.
