Brownsburg, Ind., High School offensive lineman Evan Mallory had been on the University of Louisville campus for a camp several years ago.

The 6-foot-5, 315-pound Mallory was back on Wednesday but this time it was for an unofficial visit. Just two weeks after landing an offer from the Cardinals, Mallory checked out the U of L campus and watched the Cardinals practice.

"I liked it a lot," he said. "It's an awesome place, just really nice everywhere. They have awesome lifting facilities. I also had the chance to talk with a professor there in the business program. I like how he talked about the program and how they have the classes set up."

Mallory had a chance to speak with offensive line coach Chris Klenakis and several other assistant coaches after practice.

He said he hopes to make a return trip soon.

"The practice was very fast pace and up tempo," Mallory said. "It was so up beat and they keep it going well. I most definitely want to come back and see it again."

Mallory is listed as the No. 34 offensive guard in the country by Scout.com. His other offers are from Indiana, Cincinnati, Illinois, Purdue, Ball State, Toledo and Western Michigan.

Besides U of L, Mallory also made an unofficial to Cincinnati on Tuesday. He has also been on trips to Indiana, Purdue, Ball State, Toledo, Wisconsin and Michigan State.

"My mom wants me to stay close to home,"" Mallory said. "But for me it's whatever fits me the best. I am going to go to place that fits me the best if it's an hour away or 20 hours away."
