Louisville women roll into Elite Eight

The University of Louisville women's basketball team rolled back into the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight. The Cardinals hit 12 of 30 three-pointers and socked LSU 73-47 before 11,097 fans at the KFC Yum! Center on Sunday afternoon.

The Cardinals made it back by hitting 12 of 30 three-pointers on Sunday and dominating LSU 73-47 before 11,097 fans at the KFC Yum! Center.

Shoni Schimmel led the way with 19 points, while Tia Gibbs hit 5 of 8 three-pointers and had 15 points and five rebounds off the bench.

The Cardinals (33-4) will play Maryland at 7 p.m. on Tuesday for the right to go to the NCAA Final Four next weekend in Nashville, Tenn.

U of L was 25 of 63 from the field and had 21 assists on the 25 made field goals. The Cardinals' bench has outscored their foes 84-2 in three NCAA Tournament games, including 28-0 here.
