The University of Louisville baseball team will host Cincinnati in a three-game series starting on Thursday with a conference title on the line. The Cardinals are tied at the top of the American Athletic Conference standings with Central Florida. All three games are at home.

The University of Louisville baseball team is coming off a tough loss to Indiana.

But the fifth-ranked Cardinals still have plenty to play for this weekend, hosting Cincinnati for a three-game series that begins at 6 o'clock on Thursday night.

The Cardinals are tied with Central Florida atop the America Athletic Conference standings. Both teams have three games to play.

"It's a big weekend, no doubt," U of L baseball coach Dan McDonnell said. "We just have to focus and play good baseball, that's all I'm asking. I want to see us play good baseball."

U of L is 40-13 and 16-5 in league play, while Cincinnati is 22-27 and 6-15 but the Bearcats have won four of the past five games.

Kyle Funkhouser will get the start on Thursday night and will try to go 11-2 on the season.

Central Floria (33-20, 16-5) will play at Connecticut (23-27, 7-13) this weekend after upsetting No. 4 Florida State on Tuesday.
