Crawford lands offer from Louisville

Bryant Crawford

Washington, D.C., Gonzaga guard Bryant Crawford made a visit to the University of Louisville campus on Wednesday. Crawford not only liked the school but left with an offer. Cardinal Authority has the latest from Crawford.

Once Kenny Johnson took an assistant coaching job at the University of Louisville, Washington, D.C., Gonzaga guard Bryant Crawford knew it was a place where he wanted to visit.

But the 6-foot-2 Crawford didn't know he was going to like the school as much as he did on his visit, which occurred on Wednesday.

"I knew a little about Louisville, but I sure didn't expect it to be that nice," Crawford said on Thursday. "It opened my eyes.

"I liked everything about it, the players, the coaches, the campus, the school."

Crawford also liked the fact that he left campus with "an offer on the table," after a sit down with U of L coach Rick Pitino.

He also holds offers from Villanova, Indiana, Maryland, Georgetown, Nebraska, Connecticut, Texas, Penn State, Rutgers, South Florida and Seton Hall among others.

"Coach Pitino told me I would fit their style of play," Crawford said. "He told me there's always room to improve but that he likes me a lot and likes how I play the game.

Crawford said he's "still open," in his recruitment and noted that a Villanova visit "also opened my eyes," to that school.

But when asked where the visit puts the Cardinals, Crawford said: "way up there."

"Yeah, definitely," he said about U of L being near the top. "But I don't have a leader right now. Everything is still wide open right now."

Crawford said his relationship with Kenny Johnson is "really good," and said he "for sure" could see himself playing for Pitino.

"I loved their practice," Crawford said of the Cardinals. "He challenges them and they keep working hard, keep going even when they're tired. I really liked what I saw there.

"I liked the facilities and the players they treat everybody like a brother."

Cardinal Authority will keep you posted on the recruitment of Crawford.
