Trying to sign yet another top 10 recruiting class, University of Louisville women's basketball coach Jeff Walz and his staff are out and about this week recruiting.
Walz and all three assistant coaches hit the road on Sunday for the first of two live evaluation periods this month, per NCAA rules. The women's coaches can be on the road Sunday through this Saturday at events.
With two commitments already in the fold for 2015, Walz started the week in Duncanville, Texas., watching one of the top remaining targets - Erin DeGrate. She's a 6-foot-5 center from Waco, Tx., and is ranked among the top 30 prospects nationally.
Walz was spotted in Suwanee, Ga., at the Suwanee Tournament of Champions on Tuesday. Among the prospects in that event is another top target - Aliyah Mazyck, a point guard who is also a top-30 prospect and is from Charlotte, N.C. Also in Suwanee is Tori McCoy, who is a top-five prospect in the Class of 2016.
U of L assistant coach Sam Purcell has spent time in Suwanee and also in Lexington at the Run 4 the Roses event, which features many of Kentucky's top prospects, including Erin Boley - a top-five 2016 prospect from Elizabethtown. Also there is Ohio center Hallie Thome and New Jersey forward Sam Fuehring.
U of L associate head coach Stephanie Norman was spotted on the West Coast, while Samantha Williams was expected in Florida.
New York guard Brianna Jones and Virginia point guard Taja Cole are both already committed to the Cardinals for the Class of 2015.
Cardinal Authority will keep you posted on where Walz is headed next in the Walz's World message board.
