Oklahoma City, Okla., Santa Fe High School junior quarterback Keaton Torre made his first visit to the University of Louisville this weekend and left quite impressed.
"It exceeded my expectations to the max," Torre said on his drive back home. "It was awesome. Coach (Offensive coordinator Garrick) McGee is one-of-a-kind and I got to witness that first hand. It was a great experience."
The 6-foot-3, 195-pound Torre was the backup quarterback to Oklahoma freshman Justice Hansen last season at Santa Fe.
So, Torre's only current offer is from Louisville but he has a ton of interest from Big 12 and Pac 12 schools. Among the other school's he's hearing from include: TCU, Texas, Auburn, Kentucky, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech.
"A bunch of schools are in contact," he said. "I played a lot of varsity last year but it was not really my team and everyone could see that and I knew that. (Louisville) offering me shows me they see something in me and that's cool.
Torre made the trip with his friend and crosstown rival Dahu Green, a wide receiver who has committed to U of L in the Class of 2015.
The two prospects arrived on campus Saturday afternoon and watched practice. The two went back to campus this morning to watch another practice before they left for Oklahoma.
"It was so much fun to watch the coaches," Torre said. "For me, seeing the head coach more into practice than anybody, that really attracts me a lot. It was cool to see coach Petrino very serious and so into it.
"After what I saw this weekend, I think hes the best coach in the nation."
Torre said Green has been "throwing a few words in there" about U of L. But added he doesn't need to hear much from anyone after what he saw this weekend.
"No doubt, Louisville will be at the top of my list whole way thorough," Torre said. "And not just because they were the first offer me, but I got a chance to go out and see what staff was like and I just love them.
"I don't know what will happen, but they'll always be there in the hunt."
