Cardinal Authority takes a look at five guys who might surprised you this season for the University of Louisville football team.
A couple of the guys might be better known as guys that the previous staff didn't use in the right way. You will see after reading below:
Kelby Johnson: Johnson isn't in the starting lineup on the offensive line as the Cardinals set to kickoff the season. But don't expect to see him off the field for long. Johnson played a year at Virginia before heading to a junior college and is a major addition to the U of L roster. He'll play and should end up being a key performer for the Cardinals.
Matt Milton: The 6-foot-5 senior wide receiver was going to be off the team had Charlie Strong stayed around. But when Bobby Petrino was hired, he let Milton back on the team and it wouldn't be a stretch to project he will be one of the top receivers on the team. He'll get a few more targets now without DeVante Parker.
Corvin Lamb: He might be listed as the No. 5 running back on the dpeth chart but he's going to play. He's the fastest guy on the team, has great hands and is going to get touches.
B.J. Dubose: The senior keeps getting overlooked without a lot of attention coming into each season but he continues to produce. DuBose is a solid defensive lineman and will start at least one game for the fourth straight year. Expect him to be there all season.
James Hearns: Hearns came in as a linebacker but has added almost 50 points and will play on the defensive line. Hearns is solid after the move and is much stronger than he was before gaining all of the weight.
