The 2003 football season is just a month away and the Cards need your
support. After five consecutive bowl appearances, including back to back
C-USA championships, UofL is in a reloading mode this season.
The Cards, picked by C-USA coaches earlier this week in Memphis to finish 5th
in the league, promise to be exciting on both sides of the ball this season.
On offense, stars such as former Parade All-American Eric Shelton, electric
wide receiver Broderick Clark, three time C-USA First Team tight end Ronnie
Ghent, and emerging standouts Greg Tinch and Lionel Gates should help first year
Head Coach Bobby Petrino light up the scoreboard at PJCS this season. And
don't forget, Kentucky Mr. Football Mike Bush, perhaps the top recruit in
Cardinal football history, straps it up for his first season in Red and Black.
On defense, the Cards are young and athletic and will look to pressure
opposing offenses this fall. Standouts like Bobby Leffew, Rod Day, Brandon
Johnson, and Josh Minkins return for the Cardinal stop unit. And you'll
want to see emerging stars like Montavious Stanley, Abe Brown and Brent Johnson
and get your first glimpse of true freshmen stars William Gay, Early
McCray and Eric and Thomas Miller.
And while the future looks incredibly bright for this young Cardinal football
program under the direction of Coach Petrino and staff, the time is now to show
your support and become part of the Cardinal football family.
