Women's Basketball Releases Schedule
Cards host Xavier in home opener

Louisville, Ky. - A home opener with Xavier and a matchup with Western Kentucky in Freedom Hall highlight the University of Louisville women's basketball schedule released today by head coach Tom Collen.
The 28-game regular-season schedule includes 13 games against teams that participated in the 2002 postseason, including a possible matchup with Vanderbilt and a matchup with Kentucky in Rupp Arena.
Two games will be televised with the Conference USA Television Network, the first on Jan. 11 at Marquette and Jan. 25 at Houston.
After two exhibition games against OBGM Legends in Action and the Indiana Lady Stars, Louisville will open up the season at home against Xavier in Cardinal Arena on Nov 21. The will host IPFW in Freedom Hall on Nov. 23 before travelling Chattanooga to take on Southern Conference Champions on Nov. 25. Then a trip to Nashville over the Thanksgiving break to play in the Vanderbilt Classic on Nov. 28-29.
The Cards will then face Kentucky on Dec. 3 in Rupp Arena before returning home to face Western Kentucky on Dec. 6 in Freedom Hall.
The Cardinals will then travel to Ball State on Dec. 9 and return home on Dec. 14 to host Jackson State. Louisville will then play back to back games on the road against Cleveland State on Dec. 18 and Detroit Mercy on Dec. 20
The Cardinals will return home to face Florida Atlantic on Dec. 28 and Morehead State on Jan. 3 before beginning a tough Conference USA slate.
The Cardinals will face begin league play on the road against DePaul on Jan. 9. They will also face tournament champion TCU, Houston, Tulane, Cincinnati, Marquette and Southern Miss on the road. Four of the seven road games are against 2003 NCAA Tournament participants. The Cardinals will begin league play at home on Jan. 16 as they host Saint Louis. UAB, Cincinnati, Charlotte, South Florida, East Carolina, and Memphis will also visit Freedom Hall.
The top 12 teams will advance to the Conference USA Tournament in Fort Worth, Texas March 4-7.
