Burns, who also plays basketball, was a four year starter for Neptune and helped Coach Reynolds squad reach the state playoffs each season.
"Louisville got them a great player," Reynolds said.
As a senior, Burns had outstanding statical numbers from his linebacker position, and helped Neptune to the best season in school history. Neptune, which just ended its season Friday night with a loss in the regional finals, finsihed 12-2 overall.
Reynolds said Burns is a fantastic athlete with great size.
"He's rangy, athletic with great speed," Reynolds said. "He's about 6'4 [but] his number one attribute is how well he runs. He's a great drop guy that covers well against the pass. He's a super kid."
Burns sports a 3.1 GPA in the classroom and should have no problems qualifying academically. He hasn't taken his ACT/SAT test yet, but Reynold's indicated that he performed well on the PSAT.
