Trinity won it's third consecutive state title on Saturday by defeating St. Xavier 17-13 in front 26,430 fans, the largest crowd to ever attend the state championship game.
Trinity quarterback Brian Brohm, who as a three-year starter never lost a playoff game, threw for 166-yards in the win.

Despite starting the season with four straight losses, Trinity rebounded to win 11 consecutive games.
"We were 0-4 and still talking state championship," said Brohm afterwards.
The Shamrocks took an early lead by scoring on their opening drive. Twice it appeared that the Tiger defense had held, but Trinity coverted two fourth down possessions on the drive to keep it alive.
St. X tied the score when they took advantage of a Trinity fumble. Senior Dan Bick scored on a 2-yard run to knot the score at 7-7.
Trailing 14-7, Trinity recovered a St. X fumble and converted it into a touchdown midway through the second quarter.
With 6:12 remaining in the third quarter, Trinity kicker Vince Heller connected on a 37-yard field goal attempt to score the only points of the second half and giving Trinity a 17-14 edge.

"I thought we came out and fought hard tonight," explained Brohm. "I thought we had that little edge in the fourth quarter and knew how to finish the game off."
St. X was led by running back K.J. Austin-Bruce, who rushed for 75 yards.
"I really can't believe we won three in a row," continued Brohm. "It's like what you dream up when you're a kid."
