Bell looks forward to U of L camp

Utah center Brayden Bell recently earned MVP honors at the Reno Memorial Day Tournament and looks forward to camping at the University of Louisville this weekend.

Brayden Bell, fresh off an MVP performance at the Reno Memorial Day Tournament two weeks ago, says he's looking forward to participating in University of Louisville head coach Rick Pitino's Individual Skills camp this weekend.

"I'm looking forward to seeing the campus, the facilities and meeting with the coaches," Bell said.

Bell, who flew out of Salt Lake City at 4:00 AM Friday morning, said he's working hard this off-season to improve his all around game.

"I'm trying to improve in all aspects of the game," Bell explained. "I think I've improved the most this spring in terms of my rebounding and defense. I've been working out two hours a day to get bigger and stronger and that's helping me rebound and defend better."

Recruited primarily by U of L's Reggie Theus, Bell said he spoke with the former NBA standout earlier this week and feels comfortable with the first-year Cardinal assistant.

"I talked to Coach Theus Wednesday about this weekend's camp," Bell said. "We talk about everything. Reggie is a real good guy and we have a very good relationship."

Bell's only other visits have been to in-state programs BYU and Utah. The 6-foot-10 center indicated that he'd like to take a few more visits before making his decision but doesn't rule out making an earlier decision.

"I'm keeping my options open," Bell explained. "But if the right situation comes along I might make a decision."

"Louisville's coaches told me they wanted me to come to camp this weekend and see if I like the school," Bell, who believes he has a scholarship offer from U of L, continued. "My parents think Louisville is a great school and it's the one school that we talk the most about around the house. They're slightly ahead of the other schools on my list."

Besides the Cardinals, Utes and Cougars, Bell also lists UCLA, Gonzaga and Arizona.
