U of L rises to No. 7 in AP Top 25

Louisville, now 8-1 (6-0), continues to climb in the national polls and remains strong in the NCAA statistical ratings.

The 8-1 Louisville Cardinals, fresh off their 65-27 win at Conference USA foe Houston on Saturday have climbed even higher in the latest Associated Press and USA Today/ESPN Coaches Top 25 polls.

The Cardinals climbed three spots in the Coaches poll released on Sunday, claiming the No. 8 spot, while also climbing one spot in the AP, rising to No. 7.

In the Coaches poll, U of L trails only USC, Oklahoma, Auburn, California, Texas, Utah and Georgia. Miami and Boise State round out the top 10.

USC, Oklahoma, Auburn, California, Utah and Texas lead the Cardinals in the AP, with Georgia, Miami and Boise State complete the top 10.

The Cardinals will next host rival Cincinnati on Saturday, November 27th at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium. The annual battle for the Keg of Nails has a new kickoff time of 2:30 p.m. and will be broadcast nationally by espn2.
