RECRUITING 2005 Richard Raglin, a 6 foot 2, 190-pound defensive back from Atlanta Southside High, apparently saw enough during his official visit to the University of Louisville this weekend to decide the school is where he wants to spend the next four years playing football.

Richard Raglin, a 6 foot 2, 190-pound defensive back from Atlanta Southside High, apparently saw enough during his official visit to the University of Louisville this weekend to decide the school is where he wants to spend the next four years playing football.

"It was real nice," Raglin told Phil Kornblut of PalmettoSports.com Sunday evening. "I just liked the campus and surroundings and the people."

Raglin's high school coach, Reginald Curry, confirmed Monday morning that Raglin, who he spoke with about his decision Sunday night, picked Louisville over Steve Spurrier and South Carolina.

"He really enjoyed his visit to Louisville," Curry said. "He was down to Louisville and South Carolina - he really liked [Bobby Petrino] from when he came down here to visit - and wanted to play for him. He liked the direction of their program."

Raglin, who saw action on both sides of the ball at Southside this season, made 98 tackles and four interceptions on defense. On offense, Raglin, who runs the forty in 4.5-seconds, caught 30 passes for 380 yards and three touchdowns. He also carried 40 times for 384 yards and three scores and forced five fumbles at safety. Raglin also returned kicks and punts, returning one punt for a touchdown.

"He did a lot of things for us," said Curry. "He gets to the ball well and delivers a blow. He's one of the hardest hitters in our area and led our team in tackles the past two years. He's a good student and a good all-around kid."

Raglin, who has a 3.3 GPA, projects as a safety at the college level. He also had scholarship offers from North Carolina, South Carolina, Tulane and East Carolina. He officially made visits to each of those schools.
