If Amir Johnson planned to use his performance in Wednesday night's McDonald's All-American game as a barometer to determine whether to attend or enter the NBA draft this summer, the 6-9 power forward should be prepared for English 101 when school starts next fall.

If Amir Johnson planned to use his performance in Wednesday night's McDonald's All-American game as a barometer to determine whether to attend Louisville or enter the NBA draft this summer, the 6-9 power forward should be prepared for English 101 when school starts next fall.

Playing for the West, which made a valiant second half comeback after trailing 65-43 at the break, Johnson finished with only 1 point. Matched against 7-0 UCONN signee Andrew Bynum, the athletic Louisville signee did grab 7 rebounds, block 3 shots, and had an assist.

Despite an unnoteworthy effort, Johnson showed why he's one of - if not the best - prospect in his class. He runs the floor better than any other big man, and he's also the most adept shot blocker in the class. What he lacks at this point is a consisent jump shot, and a nose for the ball off the boards.

Duke's Josh McRoberts earned MVP honors with 17 points, and 12 rebounds for the East. Gerald Green had a game-high 22 points.

WEST (110): Monta Ellis 3 1-3 8, Luke Zeller 0 0-0 0, Martell Webster 6 2-2 16, Bobby Frasor 0 2-4 2, Tyler Hansbrough 4 6-6 15, Bryon Eaton 2 2-8 7, Amir Johnson 0 1-2 1, Mario Chalmers 8 1-3 20, Micah Downs 3 0-0 8, Julian Wright 7 0-1 14, Calvin Miles 5 0-0 13, Jon Brockman 3 0-0 6. TOTALS: 41 15-29 110.

EAST (115): Danny Green 2 2-2 7, Greg Paulus 2 9-10 13, Louis Williams 5 3-3 14, Richard Hendrix 2 2-4 6, Josh McRoberts 7 1-3 17, Eric Devendorf 4 4-6 13, Gerald Green 8 2-3 24, Korvotney Barber 0 4-6 4, Andrew Bynum 3 3-3 9, Brandon Costner 1 0-0 2, Tasmin Mitchell 3 0-2 6, Eric Boateng 0 0-0 0. TOTALS: 37 30-42 115.

3-point goals: East 11 (Gerald Green 6, McRoberts 2, Danny Green, Williams, Devendorf), West 13 (Miles 3, Chalmers 3, Downs 2, Webster 2, Ellis, Hansbrough, Eaton); Total fouls: East 24 (Gerald Green), West 27.
