Louisville signee Terrence Williams dunked it during warm-ups, at half-time and all the way to an MVP performance in the 2005 adidas Kentucky Derby Festival Basketball Classic.
But despite Williams’ brilliant performance, his impressive aerial display wasn’t enough to propel the Black squad past the Gold, who won 136-125.
Alabama-bound Alonzo Gee led the Gold with 18 points on 8 of 11 shooting. Duke signee Greg Paulus earned Gold team MVP after recording a double-double with 11 points and 10 assists.
While Gee and Paulus led the way, the Gold team had plenty of help. Marcus Williams finished with 19 points, while Indiana signee Joey Shaw scored 17 points and grabbed 7 boards.
And though his team lost, Williams was the show Saturday night. He opened up the game with a windmill dunk, and continued dunking throughout the game. In fact, his first ten points were the result of five dunks. And while the windmill was nice, his two between the leg dunks to win the dunk contest at halftime were more impressive.
“I didn’t expect nothing like this, it feels great to not put on a Cardinal uniform and get the type of applause I got tonight, I’m speechless right now,” T-Will said.

Williams finished with 32 points on 14 of 23 shooting and took home plenty of hardware, winning both the dunk contest and Black team’s MVP.
Future U of L point guard Andre McGee put together a solid effort despite missing five three’s. McGee was 3 of 10 from the floor, but did hit 3 of 4 free throws. He finished with 10 points, and showed confidence running the break.
“I think I played pretty good, but it’s an all-star game and the high flying guys are really the ones getting all of the shots,” McGee said.
At one point in the second half McGee hooked up with Williams for an alley-oop dunk that he promised will be first of many to come in Freedom Hall.
“We are going to get at least two or three of those a game,” McGee stated. “We’ve been practicing throwing them off the backboard and throwing the lob.”
For a 7-footer, Jonathan Huffman displayed a very nice touch. He knocked down a bank shot from 10 feet, and added a few turnaround jump shots in the lane for good measure. Huffman scored 12 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 18 minutes of play.

6-8 Chad Millard, who won the 2-on-2 contest with Shaw Friday night, didn’t produce much. Millard took just three shots, making one. He scored 2 points.
The other 7-footer that will join the Cardinals next year, Clarence Holloway, took only scored two points.
Other Notable Performances
Jeffersontown guard and Kentucky Mr. Basketball Domonic Tilford scored 15 points.
Kentucky signee Jared Carter chipped in 10 points and 4 rebounds on an impressive 5 of 8 shooting.
Mario Chalmers, who is headed to Kansas next year, had a double-double getting 21 points and 10 assists.
Ryan Ayers, who is headed Notre Dame, won the three-point contest with 22 total points.
Brandon Rush had a very quiet 13 points, and wasn’t very active when he was in the game.
