Recruiting picking up for Leonard Gordon

Fort Campbell safety Leonard Gordon, who currently holds a scholarship offer from U of L, spoke with InsidetheVille.com recently and provided an update on his recruiting.

In late February Fort Campbell's Leonard Gordon told us that he'd be open to every program that expressed an interest and he hasn't waivered from those comments two months later.

"It's too early to say who might be a favorite right now," Gordon explained. "All of the schools that are interested in me offer something. I'm just going to make sure that I get to know the coaching staff and find a place that feels the most comfortable to me."

The 5-foot-10, 190-pound safety was extended scholarship offers from both Louisville and Kentucky months ago and recently added a third.

"Ball State from the MAC just offered me," said Gordon. "Out of all of the schools recruiting me, Clemson is recruiting me the hardest though. They said they want to see me in person. I think I'll get one from Vanderbilt soon too."

Michigan State, Vanderbilt and Michigan have already visited Fort Campbell High School this week and Gordon expects even more.

"There are a few more that are coming in this week," Gordon said. "I know Louisville is coming down later, but I'm not sure right now when Kentucky is coming."

Gordon will camp at Nike in Akron, Ohio and at Louisville's passing camp.

"[U of L] invited me to come up for Junior Day and the Spring Game, but I couldn't get up there, so I'm looking forward to that camp," added Gordon.

Gordon, a native of Ocala, Florida, is in no rush to make a decision and he's looking forward to visiting various school's in the future.

"I just want to find the right place me," Gordon said. "Right now I'm open to everybody."
