Renardo Foster Player Profile

How did the voluntary workouts help you prepare for the start of practice?

"It was good for me. Things were a little bit antsy for me in the beginning, but after the first week or two everything seemed to be back for me. I feel like I am completely back, 100%, but it took awhile. The trainers and the strength coaches really worked me hard."

So you have been cleared to participate in all drills once camp opens?

Yes, once practice starts I will be cleared to do everything. The strength coaches went light on me during the first couple of weeks this summer, but since then I have been going full blast."

Are you comfortable putting pressure on the knee?

"It feels good now, but in the beginning I was scared to do anything, like falling on the ground, but now I've had enough contact drills with the d-line, so I feel it is ready to go."

After your injury, how difficult was it for you to watch the team from the sidelines for rest of the season?

"It was real tough. Especially not being able to play in the Miami game, but Darveau came in and did a real good job."

It appears that you may be playing at a new spot along the line this year.

"As of now I am playing weak guard. I'm now getting used to that and making the adjustments I need to. It's completely different from tackle, but I think I'll do okay."

What are your thoughts on this year's offensive line?

"We're real tough, but they were tough without me, so hopefully I can add just a little more to it. We have a lot of experience on the o-line, especially with returning starters, like Jason Spitz and Travis Leffew."

Have you thought about the new teams you'll face in the BIG EAST Conference?

"We know it will be a lot tougher this year, but we enjoyed our time in Conference USA. Being the Big East is a big thing for us, so we all really want to make sure that we play our best."
