Elvis Dumervil's six sacks established a new school record

Mario Urrutia
made their first career starts for the Cardinals. On defense, sophomore
Matt Sanders
, and juniors
Brandon Sharp
and
Gavin Smart
also made their first career starts.
Head coach
Bobby Petrino
is 3-0 in season openers as head coach of the Cardinals and is 7-0 in the month of September.
With
Brian Brohm
's first quarter touchdown run, the Cardinals extended their streak of consecutive game's with a rushing touchdown to 22.
On the game's first drive, sophomore quarterback Brian Brohm, making his first career start, directed the Cardinals on a 13-play, 76-yard drive which ended in a one-yard Brohm run. It was Brohm's third career touchdown run. He added another one in the second quarter on a one-yard run.
Senior wide receiver
Joshua Tinch
caught a pass in the first quarter to extend his streak to 17 games with a reception.

Senior
Elvis Dumervil
set a new school record for sacks in a game with six, breaking the old mark of five by Mike Flores against Murray State in 1990.
Junior
Michael Bush
registered his fourth career 100-yard rushing performance gaining 128 yards on a career-high 27 carries. The junior also recorded two second quarter touchdowns.
