Game notes from the Cardinals dominating 61-10 win over visiting Florida Atlantic on Saturday afternoon at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.

  • RB Michael Bush rushed for a career-high 204 yards on 18 carries, scoring three touchdowns. It was his third rushing effort over 100 yards this season and fifth of his career. It was the most rushing yards for a U of L player since Anthony Shelman ran for 220 yards in a 34-27 victory over Tulsa on Nov. 29, 1994, which was Howard Schnellenberger's last game as the Cardinals' head coach. Bush has scored 23 career touchdowns, which is tied for sixth all-time at U of L.

  • DE Elvis Dumervil (pronounced DOO-mer-vill) produced his third game this season with multiple sacks. His 11 sacks this season already surpasses his total from a year ago. His 11 sacks are tied for seventh all-time at U of L and his 21 career sacks are seventh best at U of L.

  • WR Mario Urrutia (pronounced U-ROO-tee-uh) had four catches for 138 yards, including a 76-yard TD in the third quarter -- U of L's longest play of the season. He is the first Cardinal to produce three straight 100-yard receiving games since Deion Branch ended the 2001 season with four straight.

  • PK Art Carmody drilled two field goals, including a season-best 40-yard field goal in the first quarter. Carmody's string of 97 straight successful extra point kicks was ended when his third quarter attempt was blocked. He kicked an NCAA single-season record 77 successful extra points last season.

  • QB Brian Brohm threw for over 250 yards for the third straight game. He completed 15-of-23 passes for 282 yards and a touchdown. Brohm entered the game ranked 14th in the nation in passing efficiency.

  • Defensively, the Cardinals limited Florida Atlantic to 15 yards rushing and 202 yards overall. U of L has held three of its four opponents to less than 50 yards rushing.

  • U of L improved to 17-0 when scoring over 40 points under coach Bobby Petrino. The Cardinals have scored over 50 nine times in Petrino's third season at U of L. The Cardinals have produced over 40 points in 12 of the last 18 games.

  • U of L is 12-1 in Papa John's Cardinal Stadium under head coach Bobby Petrino. The Cards have won eight straight home games.

  • The crowd of 40,219 was the second sellout of the season in Papa John's Cardinal Stadium. Next week's home game against North Carolina is already sold out as well.

  • DT Adrian Grady and OLB Preston Smith each made their first collegiate starts on defense. Grady replaced the injured Amobi Okoye, who missed the game with a foot sprain, while Smith replaced senior Brandon Johnson.

  • TE Gary Barnidge missed today's game with a foot injury.

  • RB George Stripling produced his first career TD with a five-yard run in the fourth quarter. He rushed for a career-high 55 yards on seven carries.

  • The six new members of U of L's Athletic Hall of Fame, which were inducted on Friday night, were recognized at the game. The list includes Michelle Borgert Ihmels, who won six Metro Conference titles as a distance runner at U of L; Julie Guess Helmy, who won an unmatched 20 or more tennis matches in four seasons with the Cardinals; Dan Kopriva, who earned All-America honors in 1992 when he ranked third in the nation in hitting with a .488 batting average; Howard Schnellenberger, the second-winningest football coach in U of L history; Jamil Shalash, U of L's career leader in soccer goals and points; and Billy Thompson, starting forward on U of L's 1986 NCAA Championship team and the Cards' No. 11 all-time scorer.
